The Civil Service Awards is a highly respected and prestigious cross-government programme, recognising and celebrating the wealth of inspirational individuals and innovative projects within the Civil Service. For the last 17 years, these unique and empowering awards have helped to spread best practice right across government, sharing innovation, learning and leadership.

In line with the new Modernisation and Reform strategy ‘A Modern Civil Service’, this year’s award categories have been as aligned with key areas of focus across government. The categories showcase the skill, innovation, and ambition of the Civil Service. Each category is championed by a Senior Civil Servant, who are proud supporters of the awards. The category champions promote their specific category to colleagues through networks across government and actively encourage nominations. Each of our champions will select an expert panel to support them in reviewing the nominations and help them form the shortlist for their specific category.

The overall winner for each category will be announced during the awards ceremony taking place later in the year.
